This is an easy to build kit that makes a nice waterline model of either HMS Gannet or HMS Peterel circa 1927.
HMS Gannet and HMS Peterel were sister ships built in 1927 for duty on the Yangste River in the China Station.
Both were armed with 2 x 3" HA Guns and several Lewis machine guns.
HMS Peterel was sunk on December 8th 1941 by the Japanese Cruiser Idzumo.
HMS Gannet was transfered to the Chinese in 1942, renamed the Ying Shan (英山) and survived the war. In 1949 she was captured by Communist Chinese forces and is thought to have continued to serve up to 1970.
