Landing Craft Support Large MkI Kit

This is a mixed medium kit of a Landing Craft Support Large MkI. Produced from 1943 these were the last type of the small Landing craft support type before the introduction of the 115 foot Fairmile H Landing Craft Support vessel.

This vessel was approx 48ft long and had a crew of 13.

Armament was essentially the same as the previous LCS MkII and MkIII versions but also had a Daimler Armoured car turret with a 2pdr Anti-tank gun fitted forward for use against possible armoured targets.

By 1944 the 2pdr was considered obsolete and with the development of the Fairmile H the anti-tank capability was increased with the incorporation of the 6pdr Valentine MkXI turret.
