Challenger A30 Hollow casting with aluminium and brass 17 pounder barrel, individual 15.5 inch track links, 17 pounder breech, and turret bin. Great model of this unique british design. The challenger A30 was based on a lengthened Cromwell Hull, and developed as a stop gap vehicle to take on the German Tiger and Panther tanks, with it's very effective 17 pounder gun. These tank killers were used in the European campaign from 1944 to the end of the war in conjunction with Cromwell and Sherman tanks in the same role as the Sherman Firefly.
